Hi,

For the last six months I have a access point on my second floor and my Dell is connected to a Cantenna, a 12 dbi antenna and the antenna is connected to Engenius Wireless Lan USB adapter with the specs of 200mw amplifier and is then connected to my USB adapter supplying power to the EUB-362 EXT unit. All of a sudden I am losing the signal and my antenna is aimed somewhere on a tripod. I ran TCP/IP Optimizer and I believe I have a good signal. How can I lock on to this signal and know I can keep it rock solid ? At present it is running at 108mbps.

I am not using any routers with my current set up. Is it necessary to use a router the way I have it setup ? I am concerned that routers will not be able to a accept a 200mw amplification of a signal.

I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks

Arthur

it could be a problem with the software, try updating your driver. If your software is alright it could also be the problem with your hardware or the routers hardware.

Sivitiri,
I have the latest softwate driver for my unit. I am not using a router but the USB antenna/amplifier of 200mw. It is connected to a separate USB external port with its own power supply. When I connected directly to my old computer, I was getting dropped signals. The moment I gave it its own power and the the output of the GE USB unit to my computer, it was stabilized. My problem is that it states it is connected but I can't always lock onto the signal. I am using a 12dbi antenna which I always thought was powerful but maybe it isn't. If you could give me some suggestions to try and remedy this problem I will appreciate it.
Thanks
