SOE will do anything these days

I cancelled my Vanguard account February 18th, 10 days before the free month ended.

I suddenly get a charge for $15 on my CC. Go back to realize it still has my account as active. I click cancel again and go back again to check. They still didn't cancel it.

I thought it was just a bug at first but then found out they are doing it to a lot of people. Possibly a desperate attempt to leach at their continually decreasing customer base.

They denied I ever attempted to cancel my account and said they wouldn't refund the money. Had to contact the credit card company to report fraud and get the charge reversed.

Sony is releasing nothing but flops it seems lately.

I'm curious to know what their profits are broken up by department.

I sent them two replies with proof that I cancelled my account and they sent me an email back stating they haven't heard from me and assumed the problem was correct along with a customer satisfaction survery.

They are going out of business soon anyway along with half of Sony's other distributions. So **** them.

You guys should to chargebacks with your CC company if they won't refund.

I got the $15 back from my bank. Not sure what they are doing (if anything) with SOE.

Hoping. But seriously, anyone who touches their games ends up hating them due to some form of shafting.

I can't can't how many times I've heard..."**** that game, its got SOE's fingers all over it, not touching it!".

Everquest, Everquest II, SWG, Vanguard, Matrix Online, Planetside, etc... All flopped over time, if not on release.

SOE's desperate to keep up their customer base... look at planetside its community is decreasing in size even everquest 2 isnt so popular due to WoW and upcoming titles such as warhammer...

Look at this POS games top 10 bug list...
For the week of: 4/02/2007

1. Group disconnect
2. Falling through the world
3. Player housing performance
4. Harvestable corpses getting stuck animating
5. Cull distance issues causing mobs to pop in too close
6. Client hitching
7. Client memory leaks
8. Ranged physical attacks having wrong timing with damage numbers
9. Rough player character movement (when you are watching other players)
10. DoTs not giving kill credit
Pretty much all of it shoulda been fixed in early beta. 2 months after its release they still haven't fixed it.

typically a MMO sucks at launch because of server issues. Not this game, they just released it half finished.

It's pretty damn official. I've been keeping track of the number of players so I know this is true. Another failure for SOE.
New, current rumor is that SoE will announce next week they've agreed to buy out Vanguard from Sigil based on its declining population, since Sigil cannot afford to continue. Further information is that SoE will merge servers shortly thereafter.
