I just got DSL service from Yahoo AT@T. I've been doing a lot of speed tests, mainly from their speedtest site. I am always showing my download at 1.9mb. I had a Tech come out here to see if they could find a problem because I am able to get up to 3mb. She plugs in her labtop to the modem using the same network cable and such, does the speedtest and she gets 2.6mb download.

Now the funny thing is I have 3 computers here. My moms older gateway computer, my newer built system, and my wifes laptop. I connect all three to the modem directly (one at a time) and all 3 get the same 1.9 mb download. She says must be some tweak settings or something, but I had a 3mb cable line before this and had no problems downloading at max speed.

Does anyone know what is going on? Could all three of my nic cards not work right with the DSL modem?

I sure would appreciate any kind of help.

PS I have ran tweak utilities from here, pc pitstop optimizer, and with no luck.

It doesn't sound like you have a problem. What it sounds like to me is that each computer connected to yournetwork isusing some of the overall bandwidth you are able to get, which you said was 3mb. Each PC (laptop or desktop) that you put on a network takes a little bit of the bandwidth. The more computers you have on a network, the slower the connection becomes. Have you tried using just one at a time? You'll probably notice by doing so that you can get the full 3mb's your alloted.

The NICs will work fine with the Speedstream, no compat issues there, esp if you went through 3x PCs.

Try our SG TCP Optimizer..make sure you flip it to "Optimal"..and flip the MTU to PPPoE 1492. Slide the bandwidth to around 1500...RWIN should go around 64240. Reboot...try speedtest. Then bump the slider up so the RWIN is 128480..apply, reboot, try again. Go with the one that gives you the best.

Where is the RWIN value located, can't seem to see it on the TCP optimizer? Thanks.

TCP Receive Window..there's a box to the right of the text...sort of towards the lower left corner...top of the row.
