I've been trying to connect to an irc server and it looks for a socks and wingate forever and never finds them and won't let me connect. I can connect to other servers just fine, do I have to change something in options to be able to connect?

What IRC network are you trying to connect to that does the scans for socks and wingate? It might be easier to help with that info.
