The Piratebay Raided and shut down

This is crazy. A country that has totally different laws regarding copyright raids and shuts down a totally legit web site. (according to their laws)
Just goes to show the power of the US Corporations now-a-days.

Its in Sweden. The Swedish National Criminal Police.
Unfortunately yes. Before you could pretty much get any TV series you wanted. It was great.
http://www.thepiratebay.org has a brief explanation of what happened.

My legalities have nothing to do with this at all. It seems it does have to do with American corporations having a brute strength hold everywhere it seems. Microsoft is writing bills in Oklahoma now, Oil companies are having federally protected lands opened up, and chemical companies are having environmental laws laxed so they can save $. The problem is US copyright laws being pushed on countries that don't abide by them and PLUS no files are even stored on their servers its just torrents files.

No files are stored or torrents are stored?
I dont know swedens laws on this but if its going to court and from the way its written on the site, it seems like this priatebay is borderline.

You're crazy. Seriously. The insane inference you just made from my off-topic statement just amplifies that fact. Your jumps from wife-hating religion loather to yay-gub'ment Silas Marner is further proof. All that whining you did about how I "picked" on you, and, shocker, you justify everything I said tenfold with every post you make.
Congrats.

A torrent is not the actual file itself. I guess its sort of an info file. The actual file is sitting on someones hard drive somewhere else.

When you file for a US copyright, most companies are smart enough to file an International Copyright. That makes a US company powerful enough to do what they have done.
Sweden may not have to care about a US copyright, but an international Copyright is a completely different story. And getting those is only a few steps harder (or easier depending on what your copyrighting) then a US copyright and are accepted in a majority of the known world.

So what...you never downloaded files, but you cheated on your wife. Wow you are so much better then everyone else. You are just so cool and honest.
The same way you look at getting innocent lapdances or hickies from strippers, is the way i look at the pirate bay.Its innocent.
