Simple Question : How do I open/close up port 6881??

Posted: Thu Mar 30, 2006 6:23 am
by greaTER
Or whatever port I'm supposed to have opened/closed in order for Azureus to run?
I'm got a 'nat error' apparently.

I'm using Nortons Anti Virus, running Win XP.

And yes... I have read other posts/replies but they haven't really helped myself.

I've tried that http://192.000.00 ip thingy also, that gives me 'page cannot be displayed'.

I'm using wireless, not linksys, belking54...

Oh and please.... no computer jargon.....it blows me away really. lol

Thanks in advance!

;)

Rest assure, I'll be back.

This forum page is now my "homepage". So I'm forced to remember my problems everytime I click on explorer..

lol

Ok, so what do you want me to get from the manual?

I only have a linksys router so i'm not familiar with a belkin but it works in a similar way ....inside the manual there should be and ip address to configure the router ...more than likely it's something like 192.168.xxx.xxx.... type that into your address bar and hit enter....from there you should see a configuration page.... and from there look for a tab or link to 'ports or applications' ...my linksys labels it 'applications and gaming' so it should be something similar to that .....look for that first and let me know if you find ....we'll take it from there.

I don't have the manual.

But after going to Accessories> Command Prompt, and typing in "ipconfig", the similar number I got was

192.168.2.1

But when I type it in the address bar, nothing happens.

Ahhh great.

Had to add the http part.

Ok, so now what happens??
I tried to type in "admin" as I had previously seen in the other post, but that didn't work.

----edit

So I read what it says... and it just tells me to hit submit, which I did..and I am in somewhere with a blue boxs and lots of numbers and jargon..

Shall I copy & paste that here??

signal strength depends on what you got in between it ...some parts of your house will get a better signal depening on how big your house is .... obviously th e closer to your router the strong the signal will be ... just hit print screen ...save it is a .jpg file and email it to me ...did you see anything related to ports when you looked at your configuration page ?
