studying for a major test. who knows "what are the devices that make a computer faster and what is the relationship between them all? PLEASE help me!

PLEASE can someone help me! Who knows the answer to this question? What are the devices that make a computer faster and what is the relationship between them all? PLEASE! Im having a hard time finding this answer.

Defrag the hardrive, speeds up some programs.
Get a faster CPU, speeds up some programs.
Get more RAM, speeds up some programs.
Get faster RAM(new mobo required), speeds up some programs.
Get faster interface(ie ide<sata<scsi), speeds up some programs.
Run only the program you need, definetly speeds up the program(spyware).
Have no virus', speeds up some programs. Have a virus, the virus runs just fine.
To test any one of these hypothetical situations, Use the folding program.

Bios rocks.
Can personelize how the stacks of memeory, and the data(zeros and ones people) are used, and add hotkey into the mix, sky's the limit. Don't know much about it, but I do know math. I'm convinced its working good for whoever customises it best. I have to relly on quick point and clicky software..
