hi, i am living in japan and have an adsl connection with yahoo bb advertised 50Mbps but as i live 4 or 5 km away from ntt, the telephone company:

SPEED 2.5 (speed.rbbtoday.com)

i am living in an apartment and have just connected to the free cable tv and internet service that they have here 'leopalace bb' which is a lot quicker:

but is a private ip address. i currently have both connnections on one computer, 2 separate lan cards, im wondering if there is anyway to control applications to use the connection i want? ie. adsl for online games, p2p etc. and cable for everything else. or even better, configure the cable(private ip) for online and p2p- at the moment it is very slow and i get disconnected all the time..

Unfortunately you can't assign a specific nic card to certain applications. At least not with Windows XP, 2000, etc. You would need some version of MS Server which I'm assuming really wouldn't be beneficial to you. So the short and skinny of it is no.
