Ok I have two NEC DVD/everything drives installed in a comp.. problem is for example I want to leave my BF2 DVD in the 1st or master drive so I don't have to take it in and out but I want to stick in another say movie dvd or music CD in the 2nd drive and play it.. I can't remember the settings I need to adjust to make it auto play like the master drive?

Right-click on the drive, properties, autoplay settings.

mount the image file using daemon tools.
ya can't play it online with a legal serial number, so I don't see any ethical issues here. you paid too much for it to leave it in your drive.

*throws hat into ring*
looks like this might be a tough one, i'm still looking at search results, but this might be a good starting point (look towards end of this thread) might be a prob w/ a startup app

naw ran into another problem working on now... but autoplay works on drive one..but doesn't on drive two.. I want both drives to operate independent from each other.. play a CD in one and play a DVD in another for example.

Well I'll try that but its not exactly what I mean lol I'd like to get it with the BF2 or whatever CD/DVD in that 1st drive then put say like a movie DVD in the 2nd drive and watch a movie from it or access it like you would normally.

Do you have them on the same channel? Are the jumpers set one as master, one as slave, or are they using cable select?

I know you know what you're doing, it's just that I saw something in googling on this so figured I'd ask.
I'm still looking. This is a good one...

I'm still not exactly sure if I got a solution to this problem yet LOL I've tried a few different things but I think if I explain it more.... well for example: BF2 DVD in Drive 1.. playing in game.. Music CD in drive 2 playing music in the background say through media player or whatever. Otherwords both drives working independent from themselves and vise versa.. I want just drive 1 and 2 not Master and slave.

You can devote an individual ATA channel to each drive and make them both master (if you have the channels...). I don't think that Windows cares if they are master or slave. Performance wise it wouldn't matter since game discs only spin up to check the media then sit there.
I probably don't understand your problem or goal here...

Neither do I. I think he's been smoking too much crack lately.
Are you trying to listen to music while you play BF2?

How about this...
Image the game disc(s), Rip the audio CDs, and stop using slow media!!!
That's what I do with my gaming rig, I never have to change CDs.

well I'm using this as a example of game and music disk.. could be two Music CD's one in each drive.. I don't care lol I just want the drives to work the same and at the same time if I wanted them too. But as of right now I'm having a issue of the 2nd drive even working at all.

Replace with a known good drive and see if it works, even if its just a cd drive.
