Yeah. I'll turn it up to 69 if it gets really cold though. As long as its in the high teens to about 45f that seem about right for me.

3 degrees outside right now.

In my new house, I have been keeping the thermo (just put a programmable one in) at 65 when we are here and 62 for sleeping. The thing is, when it is 65 where the thermo is (near the front door), the rest of the house is much warmer. Damn leaky windows.

62f at night, 65 - 66f or so in the day, sometimes if it's extra cold out I bump it to 70 for a 1/2 hour to crank the registers and take the bite off.

68 while we are home, 62 while we are at work. Have it set to run up to 68 right before we walk in the door. It drops to 64 when we go to bed. With my woodstove going, my furnace doesn't even kick on until 4 or 5 am if I load it up before we go to bed.

Youd only like it for a month, then be sick of it like we are and then have to suffer through 4 more months of this crap. If it didnt stay so cold for so long id love it here, but winters are too long.

I keep myu thermostat at 70 degrees, but the heater rarely fires up. I've had a wood stove fire burning for a month now non stop, just turn its heat up or down accordingly. I'll use 1 tank of oil (275gal) all winter for the furnace and 3-4 cords of free wood. I like it HOT in the house.

If i'm cold, i turn the heat on. Once i get hot, i turn it off.

Simple as that.

I really wish I had a fireplace at this house, they really do help out a ton and are nice to sit at. Always had one when I was younger, but this home im in now theres really no way to get one.
