Friends bashing friends on SG.

Reading the various and quite numerous posts surrounding the all to obvious issue regarding Burke/Brent/etc...I think we can all agree that SG has gone someplace that it wasn't meant to go.
Reading threads where friends bash eachother is not something that makes me enjoy SG.
And I just want you to know, and yes, you know who YOU are...there are those of us that are being caught in the middle here. My friendships in SG are vast and numerous...but I can't pick sides. As much as I like Downhill, I like Burke...as much as I like JCOS, I like ScottE.
I just want to remain your friend.
Don't you think it's silly that things have gotten this out of control that I have to post this?
So do you see how some of us are being thrust into this position? It's not a fun place to be in...caught in the middle.
This is truly a lowpoint for me in my relationship to SG.
No reply necessary. I just wanted you all to see what direction this thing has gone in. I'm sure others share my viewpoint.
That's it for me...back to the gaming forum I go.

Personally, I think this forum is dieing off. More people are spending their majority of time at different forums. This never was well-known forum anyway. When a forum dies off, the friendship dies off. That's the only answer I could pull out of my ass and give you

There's a small clique and a few sattelite members, that's about it. I think it was a well known forum once, just not anymore.
The people are still fairly friendly though, whenever I see people complaining about how nasty everyone is I giggle, they're so much nicer here than anywhere else.

there is only one other forum I visit - I won't name it here, but I go there when I feel like slumming - actually it makes me appreciate SG even more.
I've looked @ other forums, but they just aren't SG - so this is where I stay

Perhaps playing games, doing actual work on their machines or even spending time away from their computers.
It is no the lack of drama or arguments, it is what is being offered by the forum that would be its draw.

People are just coming out with their feelings more now and not holding back when something they dont agree with or agree with happens. It DOES cause a ruckus, as people you wouldnt think would agree with something do or dont etc. Personally I think this forum is alive and well and has alot of great people who come here. I dont want to leave, and I dont think even those who are upset by recent events want to leave. Everything will chill back down, dont worry bout it.

I can leave this online family like I can leave my real family. In other words, NOT.
I'm here for the long haul - there's no place like SG. I visit other forums but I wouldn't want to live there.

consider this a chunk of the real world for a minute, there is going to be people you dont like and people you disagree with, its going to happen. sometimes people act or react differently then youd like them to. but this is life. Theres no reason to ban people from here everytime they say something not completely kosher. we are all adults, well most of us, lets try to act like them.

Myself I have not been spending as much as time as I use to..I been going to other fourms and just been playing eq2 lots...I still like it here..but SG is not what it use to be for me. Hopefully with the new changes, SG will get better in time, but I guess we will see.

Hi UOD
All i can say is there would be a lot of sore noses if this were a face to face situation.
For some reason there are people here who feel free to attack others, or demean them in ways unacceptable on the Street.
Being Canadian i have seen things printed that were an insult to both myself and my Country for no apparent reason and with no apparent thought either imho.
I will in most cases let it go, but at times its simply too egregious to do so. A little forethought by the Poster would have avoided this situation entirely. The same can be said of others and their situations.
Thinking before you reply and showing respect for the others opinion is usually all that is required to keep things on an even keel.
You do not have to accept the others point of view, but simply accept that he/she has a right to have it.
Too many times people make things personal here of late and it quickly goes downhill from there. We formally showed respect to one another and that seems to have tapered off of late.
There are a couple here that will remain nameless who love to instigate and whose presence would not be missed by myself and most others i'm sure. They are not hard to identify.
i always refereed to coming here as to going to the Corner Bar. A place to greet Friends and enjoy some fun. No reason for this to not become the situation in the near future once again.
Fun is Fun and we all enjoy that, but when it becomes mean and spiteful then it is no longer the case and needs to be dealt with harshly by the Admins.
Hopefully we can all take a deep breath and allow those in charge to cull the people responsible for most of this type of action from the ranks of SG and get back to the group of people we all enjoyed meeting with, on a daily basis.
I have learned much here and had many a happy exchange with people i've never had the privilege of meeting face to face, but consider Friends...I'd hate to lose that.

I enjoy just about everyone on here. I hope everyone comes together like they did when I first joined 3 or 4 years ago. I scan other forums but am not a member. I like you guys, even though we sometimes tend to disagree. Thanks folks.

It's hard to comment on a thread like this. It has been made very clear to me that I am not welcome by many.
But, then, I get the occasional p.m. from someone who appreciates my presence, likes my style and sees right down to what's good about me. I become immediately smitten by these wonderful, kind people and it becomes hard to think about leaving even when I am not being treated well by others.
There is alot of good here. We just need to become wiser, more tolerant and forgiving of other's bad moments, the way we ourselves wish to be tolerated for not coming up with just the right words at the right time. That takes maturity and wisdom.
Frankly, I'm going for Miss Congeniality here.

One more thing I'd like to add. Off the top of my head, I'd say that the moderators at a site set the tolerance level.
If it's okay to bash and ban by the mods, the rest will automatically accept that level of intolerance among themselves. No one is above making an effort to understand why a person who usually contributes to a forum becomes heated and rude. We could all do that, especially if we are the one being attacked.

Let me add another couple kind words if I may. There has been numerous people who disagree with me especially on Religion. But to me there is no reason to get mad at someone for there opinions. I have yet, let one person offend me with there comments. Because im an adult and I know that everybody thinks differently. I think a lot of these useless attempts to badger someone is pointless.
However, When you get to know someone so well like we do on these boards you kind of become Family. Like people have previously mentioned. So when you become a family your going to have disagreements, arguments etc.
I also think Burke is taking wrong a lot of the times. I talk to him on team speak and he is a great guy. But man can he piss you off on the boards.( heheheh)
Burke means no harm it is just his personality and opinion. So how can we get mad at someone for voicing there opinion. It's a general forum and that's what you bring here OPINIONS.
People calling people names. That is just childish. I love this place and I will be here as long as I am welcomed. There are countless people here I call my friends. Left,Scotte,Gh,Md,Prey,64Bit,Meggie,UOd,Brent,Ghost,Pie,Jcos,Snuf,Illlini,daddylongleg,Dan,rivas,sito.tao-jones,staceyb etc etc.
See! Just to many people to type.and dont be offended it your name is not here just to many names to type. I have tried my best to be a giving person and a positive person. I think if we started to think a little bit more about others this place would be much better. But I honestly have to agree with uod. This is becoming a stressful board at times. Not that im involved in any of the drama. I still get bothered by all the tension between members.
This post might even be pointless but i want everyone to know that i care for them as i do my family and if there is anything i can do Pm me or just post it im here for all.
Even the darn mods (j/k)
God bless and lets all get along.
With all my Love and Respect
Sammy.

You do not have to rush to his defense Franklin, I have read some recent threads, so I searched his old threads. Quite a difference- then & now.
Just wanted him to see.
I fully expect him to go ballistic for even suggesting such a thing.

I would prefer you not reference me in any other way than Sava700, and he's fine... its not your role to judge otherwise so why not just leave him be? Why start **** as you've seem to have done in recent days? I mean I don't know who you are but you seem to only wanna piss in everyone's cereal for no reason or one that I and others can't seem to figure out yet.

It would be ok if you were cool and hung out with us. We like to have fun. If you like to have fun then maybe we'll give you a tryout for our team. We have very low standards. You could be a shoe-in.

My failure to adapt to the polarization of America by forces that I was once loyal to. It's ok, someone has to be the a s shole that says the things that need to be said.
