same thing in my opinion...there's nothing wrong with blacks marrying whites, or any other race, why is it wrong to have two men or two women marry?
its' things like this that make it seem that christianity is akin to nazi's..(gay's are wrong, lets constantly go against them and what they stand for, when there's no real reason except you must be afraid of them for some reason)
not understanding something breeds fear....which is normal...but to not want to understand is ignorant and pointless.

here's a little story....
when i was like 15-16, a friend of mine, who was a good kid, but his family were very racist, so naturally he was racist.
so we were sitting around talking one time...he goes to church too, and he wanted me to goto church with him, but I always said no since I am not religous. This then brought up talking about gays I think...he said something like I must be gay if I dont goto church...anyway, the next thing he says to me, in a totally serious tone is,
"if your gay I'll slit your throat right now, I don't want no fagot for a friend"
now even if I was gay, of course I would lie....anyway....you can see the ignorance of him and his family....and their wonderful church

of course did nothing to enlighen him or his family that gays are just normal people...they believed in the word of God, and the church always said gays were bad...

Its a shame I gave out all my Positive Reps yesterday because I'd definitly give this guy 2 Negative Reps for these inaccurate, inconsiderate, unchristian posts. I guess some people just can't help being blind followers. Its apparent hes just here on an agenda and is just doing what he's told to do...all his posts are in other peoples words. In my opinion just a pot-stirrer.

Why do so many people think that folks supporting marriage between 1 man and 1 woman are complete Nazi, intolerant haters? There are very few sacred things left on this earth and marriage and family are 2 of them. Wrong is just wrong. The problem is, through desensitizing (sp?) we are blurring the lines on so many morailty issues. Why? We are a bored, selfish, and shameless. Look at what TV has done alone. We need 2 new reality shows a month to keep our high on that crap. We need at least one gay in every new show or it isn't cool and Fathers have always been portrayed as Buffoons on comedy shows. Does sex have to creep into every facet of our lives? Sex is probably one of the greatest gifts to us, but we blew that too. We've made a mockery of that gift and hurt millions. Think about this as soley fact: If sex were to remain between married men and women there would be no rape, no incest, no homosexual "question", no sexual diseases, no adultry, no need for life ruining pornography, no jealous rage over partners, and so many other perversions. We have ruined a beautiful thing.
I am no prude and I absolutely ADORE the gift of sex and the beauty (and nakedness

) of my wife but, I have to call a spade a spade and stick to my guns that homosexuality is not natural and is a preversion of a gift. Sexual immorality has destroyed nations and it sure is working on ours.
Does that mean we hate homosexuals? Absolutely not! We have no right to hate anyone, but we do have the right to protect ourselves and "shun" the activity we believe to be wrong.
Some of us are called to be warriors, some peacemakers and on and on..... I am a peacemaker, Saved is a warrior. If you judge him, you are guilty of what you accuse. He stands on the rock of Christ and that rock will be there when all else crumbles.

Why not? Look at the very first line "If" sex were to remain between a married man and woman.... I didn't say we have achieved that and that's the whole jyst.

The American Family Association is a 501c3 organization. They are not permitted to participate in the political process.
They may be for family, but their acts are against the law. Take a look at their website for additional examples of where they violate IRS regulations.

Umm.. voting against something does not indicate support for something else. It's a logical fallacy so large you could drive the Titanic through it and still have room for the Andrea Doria.
That's what the claim is, btw. That because they voted against the Constitutional Amendment that they therefore favor Gay marriages.
For instance, Saved, you would probably vote against an Amendment banning Religion in the United States. It does not follow that this means you support making Islam the Official religion of the United States.
Just so, many lawmakers consider this a States Rights issue and do not believe the Federal Government has any business telling the states how they may conduct their affairs in regards to Marriage Licenses. This does not mean they are in support of gay marriage at all. It means only that they think the right of the States to determine this is simply MORE important than denying 5% of the population some piece of paper which says "Marriage" on it.

There is another approach to this issue that I think has merit:
Introduce the concept of a civil union. Only a civil union has has legal significance. It may be restricted as to who can join in a civil union, preventing brother and sister or brother and brother or people below a certain age from being united. It would carry the same responsibility and privileges as marriage does at present.
Churches can do as they wish. It seems likely that almost all churches would only perform marriage ceremonies for couples that are joined in a civil union. Many churches would choose to apply the term marriage solely to a male/female union. Some might go farther, and require that neither party have been divorced, or that both must be members of the denomination, etc.
