PS2 through PC?

I want to be able to play my PS2 through my PC so I can use my monitor and 5.1 surround. I have a Powercolor 9600 Pro with a VGA input and S-Video. My sound card is an Audigy LS with all your standard stereo hookups and an SPDIF in. I've seen an adapter for the PS2 that has the AV multi for PS2 on one end, and S-Video and RCA jacks on the other end. So I'm thinking, can I run the S-Video to my video card and use something like
this to the line in on my sound card? I've also thought of another option - can i use the same adapter, hook the S-Video to my video card and then find some kind of an adapter to run from the optical out on my PS2 to the SPDIF in on my sound card?
Also, if I hook all this up how is it going to work when I turn on my PS2? Will I have to setup two monitors in my display properties? VGA for my PC and S-Video for my PS2? Also, what about the sound? Will it work when I turn the PS2 on while the PC is on?
Thanks for any and all help. Forgive me for any improper AV terms I've used, I'm not too good with AV.

I'm pretty sure that S-Video jack on your vid card is output and not input. You're pretty much SOL with what you have now.

should be able to find an adapter that converts the 2 rca plugs into a digital 1/8" jack, the card has audio in via a 1/8" jack.

i got that it works great, i play my xbox through it. Everything is nice and clear. Tv is clear at full screen too. I use the audio out on the box and stick it into the line in on my sound card so it plays the music out the computer speakers at 4.1. It also has a nice remote where you can switch between the box and computer with a push of a button.
