After finally getting some time to try tweaking SP2 I have come up with the best settings for my Cox connection. I decided to pretty go much with Windows default settings except for a couple of basic changes. I was getting close to 4300 kbits download and 515 upload. I know you have a Cox connection and would like you to try these and see what you get.

I was downloading a file from a sever on the West Coast when I got those results.

Dannjr at cablenut doesn't use all those values in it some connections you don't need any of the settings.

I'm wondering though has your page loading been any slower??

Here are the settings I'm using:

DefaultReceiveWindow = 512000
DefaultSendWindow = 65536
DisableAddressSharing = 1
InitialLargeBufferCount = 200
InitialMediumBufferCount = 480
InitialSmallBufferCount = 640
LargeBufferSize = 819200
MaxFastTransmit = 64000
MediumBufferSize = 150400
PriorityBoost = 0
SmallBufferSize = 12800
TransmitWorker = 32
FastSendDatagramThreshold = 1024
EnableFastRouteLookup = 1
EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1
IgnorePushBitsOnReceive = 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = 64240
MaxFreeTcbs = 8000
MaxHashTableSize = 16384
MaxNormLookupMemory = 5000000
SackOpts = 1
SynAttackProtect = 1
Tcp1323Opts = 0
TcpLogLevel = 1
TcpMaxDupAcks = 2
TcpMaxHalfOpen = 100
TcpMaxHalfRetried = 80
TcpRecvSegmentSize = 1460
TcpSendSegmentSize = 1460
TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30
TcpUseRFC1122UrgentPointer = 0
TcpWindowSize = 64240
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 20
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10

mcoffee, pages are loading as fast as ever.

This is the first time that I have used any Windows defaults at all since I've had Cablenut. Every setting had been custom. I had a few hours to really fool around with my settings for SP2 and it's updated and security minded TCP stack. The settings above have given me the best results by far at 4250-4350 kbits.

With the settings that mnosteele has I was much slower at around 3800-3900 kbits. My own custom settings were only a little better at 3850-3910. Even with multipule files downloading at the same time I still averaged 4150-4250 with the new settings plus it was very stable.
