I don't know if it's all true or not, but I found a webpage that contains a list of foods that dogs should not eat. I'm pretty sure that most of it is true, but I feed a lot of that stuff to my dog all the time, and she's fine. Although she does vomit sometimes. Hm...

--Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog.
--Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.

great info,I try and stay informed on what I feed my dog,I try and give her the best of the best,right now I have her on "AVODerm",and it seems to be really good.

Peanuts are not nuts at all. They are legumes, and are actually related to snow peas and string beans. They grow from small annuals, not bushes or trees like nuts.
Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to get some chocolate, break it into little pieces, and put it all over my lawn. Combined with the "please keep dogs off lawn" sign, this should get rid of the fecal matter on our property for good.
(Just kidding, of course; I am a dog fan and personally put fault on the owner. However, if I see the people who allow their dogs to do this without cleaning it up, I will personally run out with a large slingshot and send it right back at them!)

Yeah, but that would require actually handling dog excrement with your own hands.

I can vouch that onions are bad for dogs. Ever wonder how much food a 120LB rottie can spew up in 15 sec? I Don't.

yep! that pisses me off too,there is a lady down the street that sneaks out and lets her dog poop anywhere but her yard,well when I see her do it,I sneak out when shes gone and pick the poop up and put it in her yard! LOL

anyway,I walk my dog 3/4 mile every morning,and I take 2 bags with me so I can always pick up her poop.whenever I take my dog anywhere I have bags with me too.it's just not cool to not pick up after your own dog.

although some of that stuff i think is a little excessive..

i give my dog vegetables all the time, shes ok.

i knew about the chocolate (my other dog had seizures from it)
and grapes (read about it in readers digest)

but i didnt know about avacados and stuff.

this is basically saying dont feed your dog meat, dont feed your dog vegetables, dont feed your dog fruit and dont feed your dog grain.

there isnt much else..

i feed my dog a little of everything vegetables, meats, grains.. and shes a healthy body weight with no digestive problems or anything.

i think this goes a little far, its like a lot of it holds true for humans too, "dont eat a lot of fats, dont eat a lot of sugars"

Yeah same here...I think myself, and only one other guy, are the only ones who take some bags with us when we walk our dogs. If my dog happens to drop 'n pinch somewhere in front of someone elses yard...I bag it up. Plus there's a whole stretch on the road where there's no houses...just the stonewall on the side of the road, and pure overgrown stuff....perfect length of road for everyone to let their dogs pinch. But nooooo.......some people just let them go right on the front yards of other people, or at the end of some peoples driveways, or right in front of peoples mailboxes. And won't bother to pick it up. Grrrrr...

I don't like feeding our dog anything but dry dog food, but occassionally I'll let her have a piece of lettuce or a slice of cheese.. Lettuce and cheese are her favorite "people" foods.. The lettuce thing still has me baffled, but break apart a head of lettuce on the counter and she is right at your feet, licking her chops.. lol

I used to give my dog grapes and tomatoes and white bread all the time, and she seemed okay. Well, she has barfed a few times. I always wonder why she barfs so much. It might be the food I give her. But what's weird is that there's always hair in her barf and sometimes in her poo. She probably goes around eating all the hair on the floor that she can find. Well, I've stopped feeding her excessive people food just to play it safe, kids.
