Photo Software help

does anyone know if there is a software about that will allow me to merge one image into annother, eg like if i have a photo on the pc say of my wife and put her onto a different background of a different pic? hop i explained that right
anyone help? tnx

not sure what ya want to do but i am pretty sure photoshop can do it, it can do anything if ya know how.

ill explain a little better if i can........say i have a photo of my son etc, but i dont like the background, i want to remove him from the picture and put him onto annother pic with a different background, understand what im on about?

It's expensive, but Adobe Photoshop will do that. I'm not sure about any others, I just use Photoshop (7.0.1).

Quite a few of them will do this.
Photoshop is good but steep learning curve, and $$.
Photoshop Elements 2.0 will work and is less expensive and a little more user friendly, (but it would pay to get a book).
MS Picture the latest version, I'm pretty sure will also do it. It's a simpler program, but won't do as much. (Check before you buy it, my old version won't do it).

Paint Shop Pro could get the job done too.

Yeah, I forgot about Paintshop. I like that program, my bro has it. I've used it a couple of time and thought it was pretty easy to use.

mmm never knew paintshop pro does it !! i have version 7 already. never figured out how to do it with p.s.p? maybe i need to look a little harder.
as for Photoshop...... had a look at adobes website, have you seen the bloody price of Photoshop CS !!!! your right it is expensive. maybe ill go look at the other software that was mentioned.... cheers guys

Regardless, with any tool you would need to cut the person out of the picture before you can place them on another background. Both programs have a smart cut tool and both use layers. You just need to play around.
