Finally beat Halo

I got HALO with my Xbox during the summer and played about half-way through it, then moved on to some other games that I had.

Well I gave my nephew an Xbox with Halo for Christams and we played through it on co-op to just about where I had left off, so I picked it back up and started playing again. Just beat it.

In review I have to say that it is an excellent game, very well written, good story-line, right up there with Half-Life.

I am now eagerly awaiting Halo 2!!!!

Yeah, well I got my Xbox in july and then went on a summer tour for 2 1/2 months. Got home, bought a new house and started remodelling the kitchen. Did another job out on the road for a few weeks as well. Between all that AND trying to hold a regular job i don't get as much time to play as I would like.

But yeah, once I finally caught the HALO bug again I couldn't put it down till I beat it (on Heroic).

So now I'm a little bummed as none of the other games i have right now have the draw that Halo did.

Once 'Full Spectrum Warrior' comes out this spring I will be set though.

yeah, its a great game, I loved it!

Now you have to go and prove your worthiness, by beating it by yourself on "legendary" level. Almost every level has a hard part or two and I got rather fustrated a few times, but man you really have to pick your weapons right, watch your ammo at all times, and take cover when the little alien bastards see ya.. The extra challenge that "legendary" adds, makes the replay value worth it IMO.. If ya get stuck, let me know.. I got stuck a billion times but always found my way out somehow.

I didn't bother to get it on PC though. The last thing I need is to catch the Halo bug again and let it take over all my fun BF/DC time.. lol.. that is IF I ever get my rigs running right again..

I'm anxiously awaiting Halo 2 on Xbox. :)

I finally got around to sitting down to Call of Duty. Yup...just like MOHAA and SH...takes a whopping 3 sit downs to blow through that game. Too scripted in many areas, and even though they did a great job with the graphics...still constant reminders of the limitation of the Q3 engine...regarding those narrow levels. Can't go this way or that way..just follow the dotted line.

The animation of the guys running...LOL...looks like they pinched a loaf in their pants.

did you play it on the hardest level? Not even worth it on the easier levels. Yeah, its just like MOHAA..

I like the extra little details, like being "shell shocked" and knocked to the ground.. More games should do that.. When you get shot in the leg, they should fall to the ground, have to get back up to run.. maybe feel a little stunned during a close explosion, etc etc.. I like what they were trying to do with it in that regard, but other than that, I was back on BF/DC in a matter of days.. :)

I still think they need to make BF and similar games have more interactive environments.. I'm sure we'll get there eventually. It would be nice to start off a BF map with everything kinda nice and "untouched" and then by the end of the battle, the entire map is in near rubble.. Hiding spots would change according to the debris.. craters in the ground from explosives, bridges that would require an engineer's repair.. etc etc..

for now, i'll just keep dreaming. :)

Nah just blew through the game. The level of hardness isn't what I like...it's just seeing the game, the features, new technology or features in the game.

Yeah the shellshock feature is pretty cool...that would be awesome in Battlefield.

And yes....the changing of the terrain as the battle does on..that would be sweet!

ahhh c'mon.. easy run 'n gun massacre play is too boring for an experienced gamer such as yourself. Its all about appreciating the moments when the enemy has you pinned down and you've only got one clip of ammo left, that give the game its extra notch of intensity. :D
