I'm currently using a Motorola Surfboard SB4100 cable modem w/ an ethernet connection. My PC is currently using this connection. I would also like to hook up my 2 Macs to this same modem. Will a cable router allow me to do this? I'm new to networking & any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I currently use a SB5100 that came from the Cable company, I have a Linksys WRT54G
http://www.linksys.com/products/product ... 5&prid=601
And I have 3 other PC's hooked up. Works like a charm.
If I dont use the WRT54G my SB5100 will assign up to three other computers a IP via DHCP.
So, you should be ok as long as your cable company allows multiple computers.
