Fast download, slow upload

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site, but in the short time i've been here I learned sooo much :D

My problem is that my upload rate is no where to where i'd like it to be. I get a 150 to 120 k download on average, but i can never upload past 14k. I was wondering if anyone could help me in tweaking my connection :D . ANY help is greatly appreciated. Here are my stats:
-------
SBC Yahoo DSL - PPPoE
Advertised Speed - 1.5Mbps/256Kbps = D/U
OS - Windows XP home edition
--------
TCP options string = 020405a00103030201010402
MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1440
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 255552
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 63888

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10222.08 kbps (1277.76 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4088.832 kbps (511.104 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 54 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000

What you will find is that 14 k will be the maximum upload speed that you can load @.

I have a 1 mbit line with a 256 upload and my maximum is 14k per second.

You can get tweek programmes but they only usually make a diffrence to ur download ,

NO if you have a 256 package you should be getting around 20-30ks Plus also ur rwin is kinda high.

Download cablenut and the cablnut update wich is below install both. After the update is installed goto the folder it created called cablenut update then select 2k/xp then dsl look for the file called 1500/256.css open it up click apply to registry and reboot.

A coulple more thing you could try turning the modem off then computers wait a second turn modem on then computers playing around with duplex settings in control panel, network optins try like a 100 full and 100 half...

Are you behind a router??? :D

Thank You So Much For The Help!, :D

mccoffee - I do have a router installed (Microsoft Base Station MN-500), but i'm not using it currently. I only hook it up when I want to share the connection with others.

I have a direct connection (modem to pc) most of the time however. I'll try what you mentioned and post back with the results. Thanks a bunch for the help!

If those tweaks don't work you might have to rewirring

dj_tigger1982 http://www.dslnuts.com/DSLwiring.shtml take a look at that it might help you out with your promblem also if the upload is effected that bad it's something on ur line or you are just that far from c.o.
