HD Failure.....

I have a PC at work that has a hard drive problem.....It is making an intermittent squealing noise. (When the noise is present the drive just spins and the computer hangs, noise stops and everything is fine)

Anyway...I have to replace the drive and want to clone it before making the switch. (fresh install will create more headaches than it is worth)

The first program that came to mind would be Ghost but I have never used it.....

Am I heading done the right path or is there an easier way...

Thanks

Ghost is definitely you're easiest route- very simple to use, especially on a disk-to-disk clone. Shut that PC down though, until you do it- if it's on its last legs, you want it able to at least work long enough to complete the clone!

yeah just watch that the old hard disk does not keel over and die with all 4 legs in the air.

Ghost works like a treat and helps back up all the valuable data.
