Yesterday when I tried to connect my PC to the TV-set something whent wrong. The whole ***** went black. The TV doesn`t work anymore except from the sound.I can also change channels with the remote ,but still no picture.

I connected via the video-input on the back of the TV with a scart connector.Which I have done lots of times before.

The only thing I can think of that has caused the problem is that the connector has 2 settings--"IN" and "OUT" and it was set on OUT when I first connected.

My videocard is a G3 Ti 500 and I use RCA plugs and a mini-DIN plug which go to a scart adapter that is connected to the TV.The TV is only 1½ yo and of make Samsung 28" .

Does anyone has any idea of what happened and if there is something you could do yourself to fix it ?

by having the scart setting set to out rather than in that will not have caused any damage, and if it did it would be @ the computer end rather than the tv.

I would try unplugging all the connections from the tv, and try running the computer or a arial signal into the tv, also check to see if you have multiple externals, for example my t.v has 2 scart scockets and 1 avi input and a svideo input, I can select between normal arial, av1, av1, av3 and svideo.

Make sure that you are on the correct setting e.g arial or avi av2 etc. because that mucked me up the first time i tryed mine.

if not that emmm i am stumped. u could try plugging a video player into the scart scocket and playing a tape via that way and see what happens then.

OR as i have seen on some newer televisons i have seen that you can disable the picture and just play audio, for example if you were listening to the radio via a satelite system , and that happened to the tv's @ my work


hope this helps if not consult the manufacture, as i would not **** about with the tv, cause they are HIGH voltages... and you can get a nasty shock.
