I think they all are pretty much the same. Everybody out there has their own opinions. You may be able to tweak a little more performance from one of the high end cards, etc. 3com 905c, but you will be paying the high cost. Try to stay with the popular name brands, netgear, linksys, d-link , especially if you use their hubs/switches/routers.

Well, if you run the 3com card under Maximum Performance mode, then you should be able to see an increase in performance, though the rate is most likely affected by how crowded is your area in terms of cable modem users.
3com cards are great in dorm environments, except they might get you killed by angry roommates.

Besides, believe it or not, after searching for nearly a whole day yesterday, I could not find a store in Seattle that sells a 3com PCMCIA Ethernet Card... Sounds like I have to order it online...

Intel NICs are great too, except they seem to have a higher CPU utilization rate...

Yesterday I purchased a Siemens PCI 10/100 ethernet card. Spent 2 hours troubleshooting that darn card. It would not talk to my DSL modem. What is real bad is my DSL modem is made by the same company. You never know.... Back to Compusa to get a 3com.

CompUSA has 3com? It seems so hard to find one here.
