Not everyone believes in religion, so not everyone believes in these "sins" those that do believe in them, well, they dont need to worry, this doesnt change the bible.

So then don't tolerate them, and then deal with being considered cruel or a criminal depending on your actions.

Your FAITH in the bible is to be considered truth and hence made into law?

With all due respect, that is a very offensive statement sir. Whether you disagree or not, to call everyone who believes in religion (what is it, 83% of Americans believe in some religion or another?) does not bode well for your standing as a knowledgeable and respectful member.

I agree with Brent and respect him standing up to you all.

To be frank, I couldn't care less how those people view me. Belief in such fairytales doesn't really speak volumes about their level of knowledge, logic or common-sense. The bible isn't the law, it's a joke. A complete work of a fiction. There's an explanation for everything, from the reasons women bear pain during childbirth, right through to different languages existing and how the population is spread across the world.

If that is what you chose to believe, out of free will, after knowing all the facts, so be it. I am not your judge, but rest assured, there will be judgement in the afterlife, you can repent now and ask for forgiveness if you want, but once you are on the other side, it may be too late.

Now, as for me, I believe fully 100% that the Bible is the word of God, I believe it by faith, and I believe Jesus was the son of God and through him we will saved from our sins and born again into a new life, and through him we will know God.

I will not speak any further on the subject, so no need to argue with me, I've stated what I believe, and you have stated what you believe, so I think we both know where each other stands on the issues.

Right, off to posting more cross-dressing, incestuous, "Hey!, I see my peen again" threads on other 'more christian' boards, eh?

Brent, the core matter at hand is not if your beliefs are correct or proper. The core matter is enforcing a law that stands only due to morality and is heavily tied to a religion is incredibly unfair to people that do not ascribe to that particualr religion. How do you address that?

By all means I believe that those who do not agree with the Bible and Christianity should be treated just as fairly as those who do. As a matter of fact, the entire reason the Bible is around is to speak of a choice we must all make. You can choose to believe and you can choose not to, that is a choice that obviously you must make.

I think that same-sex marriage should be allowed, as much as I disagree with it, but I DO NOT think it should be called "marriage". I feel that advances on the sanctity of marriage and what it stands for: holy matrimony between a man and a woman. However, yes those who choose to get join in a same sex relationship should have the same legal benefits and whatever.

logic has nothing to do with it, we can't understand Gods will and plan fully, but I have faith that he knows what he's doing, and has laid out the rules that he wants us to follow

And that's great! for you, but what a lot of people are saying is don't force your views on them. Allow them to make up their own minds the way you did.

So, your explanation to the non-christian folks as to why they can't get married is because YOUR God said it's bad.

Well, consider that THIER God might think space travel is the height of heresy. Consider that.

The solution in my mind is to keep religion out of laws. Laws are not a way to enforce morality. Would you not be livid if someone proposed a law that infringed upon your chosen religions tenents?
