Buying laptops on a budget..such as factory reconditions/refurbs...I wouldn't get an extended warranty. Sort of blows the whole "buying for a cheap price" theory out of the water.
For someone who dabbles in computers and/or knows about them...even less the reason to get an extended warranty. The parts which are more prone to failure...and rather easily replaced.
Most common part to fail/need replacement..hard drive. 80 - 150 bucks (depending on size/speed) for a brand new drive to replace it.
Immediate guaranteed replacement no matter what the cause for failure/breakage....for a home user? Guess if you want to spend the money..but I see that as a more important feature for businesses...where staff NEED that laptop back ASAP.

I guess the big thing is to figure out when a specific product life cycle is going to end, thus ensuring any new replacement will be next gen.

not getting cocky..but it would appear we have two different Dell sites saying different things.. I however have seen first hand systems replaced or repaired due to theft and fire damage using Complete Care. You have to remember LoJack comes with Complete care usually when you check out.

Priced out a 499 laptop, with 4 year warranty and the accidental + lojack and it was over 1000 bucks. For that I would either just buy 2 laptops or put the money in savings and when the lappy broke use the other or spend the saved money on a better laptop.
I've also read around other sites that dell sends out refurbed and not new ones most times when they replace them.
So is accidental + lojack the new name of complete care?

If you can, try to grab a 9 cell battery for your laptop because the 6 cell batteries don't last as long. I get about 5-6 hrs use off of the 9 cell while using wifi too.

So as a dell warranty certified... person, you use it to cheat out thier system and thus in teh long run and grand scale cause the price to be placed higher?

Hey, I file the issue as I was told by the owner, I make the request with what info was givin.
I'm not stupid but thats not my place to go back and say BS that isnt what happened...its up to the warranty dept to either go ok or ask questions or talk to the owner.
Kinda like that one kid that came in asked about the warranty time left.. came back in a week later saying "Sir, I spilled water on my laptop and it won't work now" I'm not dumb.... I know he went in and ran the sucker under the faucet.
Otherwise being certified I'm able to work on them without voiding the warranty which is the main thing.
