Catholic schools = junior high
Public = middle school
At least around here. And the middle school kids seem to hate it being refered to as junior high.

We always called it junior high in NYC, and I am Catholic, but didn't go to a Catholic School. I only ever heard of middle school when I got to Maine.

They were all junior high years ago...middle school is a newer name that seems to have taken over..regardless if pub or priv.

I never called it Junior high....I went to a parochial elementary school that went up to the 8th grade and then on to parochial high school.
