well, it is catching on ... everyone down her at the PEC in Arkansas is wanting info on how they can do this now
So, I just keep telling em all to get the cable as I pull up this thread and expose them to the wonders of SG
Looks like I am now supposed to give a block of instruction on technology and how it is ever evolving ... won't this be a hoot ...

I am using my Verizon cell phone hooked to my laptop. Any suggestions on making this a little faster. Web pages seem to take forever to load.
I am dialing a private ISP, not using the Verizon IService.

I used cablenut to tweak this rig, I think that Tom used the SG dial up patch.
of course you can use both too. If so, install cablenut and test then install the SG Patch. Cablenut will overwrite the SG patch if it is not done in the order I stated
Also, my connection speeds is obviously dependant on how strong my signal is. So, keep that in mind when you are tweaking. Try to have the best possible signal.
Also, your equipment is a huge factor. The phone I bought is said to be one of the top "modem phones" however, it is somewhat lacking in other areas. So, it is always a give and take

I hear clearly that you can connect your laptop to your cell phone, but what SOFTWARE do I need to get them to recognize each other? SnapSync wants $30 for theirs and I already have the USB cable. By the way, I have the Verizon 4400 you keep talking about and haven't a clue how to hack it.

they charge 30 for the software, but they give the usb drivers away for free. It's a single file and contains all necessary drivers. run the zip and THEN plug in the phone.
