Interesting article on nVidia

Post by YeOldeStonecat »

Linked from Anand, a quick read about what they've been up to, and a little story about their leader, Jen-Hsun Huang.

http://www.bayarea.com/mld/mercurynews/ ... 093187.htm

I was particularly interested in his statement:
"Fortunately for Nvidia, the games that will show the difference between the Nvidia and ATI chips aren't out yet. One of them, id Software's ``Doom III,'' is expected later this year."

Makes me thing about todays benchmarks comparing the 9700p to the FX....since they're being benchmarked on old games. Will the FX really start showing it's power much better on upcoming games like Doom III, and kick ATI's butt?

Maybe some games.

But not Doom III, it has been optimized for the 8500 on up. Well, NVidia also has some of this benefit, but not near the caliber of the 8500+ cards
