First of all, I took the time to read it all, both links. Quite an interesting read, especially the second one (longer).

Do not forget one thing though: USA legal issues do not necessarily affect the rest of the world. For example, in Europe (read: EU) MP3 trading is STILL LEGAL. That means, hardware that could rip content could still be legal in Germany, for example.

And then the internet... I suppose they could cut the international connections, but I doubt the EU gov't will be easily swayed in this respect.
