kazaa slows down when I'm not active

Post by cenzo_vw »

I've noticed that when I'm online and surfing, or just active on my computer like using word, that Kazaa shows some nice speeds. However when I leave it for half an hour or more, Kazaa slows down majorly, the speeds as well as the nr of simultaneous downloads.
Is there anything I can tweak or is there a program I can install to make Kazaa believe that I am active?

additional info

Just an add-on:
I have a cable-modem
My computer is a 1gig thunderbird with 256mb ram and Win98SE operating system.
I've applied all the speed patches, but found the @home patch to work the best, since my web-pages started showing errors with the max-connections set too high.
The slow-downs in Kazaa happened before and after I tried the patches so I don't think the problem lies there.

With Kaaza installed on your system, the slowdowns are the least of your worries.

Try using the SG forum's search engine, and search the security forum for Kaaza, Cydoor, Aureate, BDE, New.net and Kaaza Lite.

The answer

Here's a fix. In Kazaa Goto Tools-Options-Advanced and uncheck "Optimal bandwidth use when computer is idle".
I think I've done enough conventions to know how to spell Melllvar.
