Well in the general forum I would say hold a clock over the CPU and see if the clock still works. In the HW forum you might get a different answer!

Hi JLR

Well there are many variables to this.

to start gather all the info oyour system

Is it a Manufactured System like a Dell or home built . Thats important.

Next list all the bits and pieces, motherboard,Vid Card, CPU, Cooling etc.

Overclocking creates Heat, so extra Fans etc. are probably going to be required. etc

Once you have it all listed then post it back with as much info as you can get.

This way someone familiar can help you out.

Your probably best served in the O/C Forum, but who knows

Good Luck

JLR,

Why do you ALWAYS post stuff in this forum when you know very well that it will be eventually moved to the CORRECT forum?

lol, give the guy a break! even though I was thinking the same thing..."whys this in the gen forum?"

anyway, you can know if you can over clock just by trying, basically.

List your system specs please, including your heatsink/fan on your processor.

after we have that info, we can help you.
