Sometimes we hand them out as reminders to not out and out insult anyone or bait. There are other types as well. Spamming for instance is an automatic ban.

I'd not worry about it JBrazen. Most here have gone years without even getting a PM from the staff. For you to have to ask what they are, indicates you would be one of them that'll probably never have to worry about it.

They take quite a few to add up to a ban. They are mostly reminders when PM's don't work and also markers for us to see a pattern if we need to.

I'd say we have a total of maybe 10 to 12 people who have ever received them besides the spammers.

actually it means you are pushing the limits of what is tolerable on someone elses forum... they serve as a warning, telling you to remember your place and your manners or you could be banned.

Oh man, I just received an infraction and it freaked me out. I was trying to think of what I did, but then I saw that it was a test infraction from Philip, whom I assume is a mod or the site admin?

At least now I know how I'd be notified if I ever get one.

Come over to my house. Each offense is 1 pt, collect 3 in a one year period, automatic ban. I'm tired of screwing with the same people.

That's a load of BS and you know it. It's been quite some time now that you have been making digs at Mods on here (in particular DH). Your implication that certain people are targeted as if that is the fault of Mods is ridiculous. Not a single Mod on here goes after a member for the fun of it. Unfortunately we have a select few here who constantly push the envelope. You guys claim inconsistency, but the facts are we do nothing different here then we would in real life. If a member here or in real life gets along with people and respects their views even when they disagree then we cut them some slack when something happens. However, if a member is constantly looking to cause trouble then that will certainly factor into them getting trouble in return alot quicker then a person who doesn't usually cause it. If you have a problem with it then I highly suggest you hide away in your home and not interract with real life situations because that's how life works.

Regardless of your views though this staff does a very good job managing a large forum board and the different personalities on it. Undoubtedly we make mistakes some times, but we always strive to do our best to resolve every situation we can. That said if a person is hell-bent on stirring up trouble don't whine when you get busted for it.

i think when i got my 3 day, it was my 2nd. i have had a couple more since though which may look like i had more than a couple when this happened.

You had 3 in a month's time and that's more then a couple. In fact like DH stated that is a few. Add the fact that we don't issue infractions for every single situation and DH's remarks were 100% accurate.

As I stated man we aren't perfect. When you have multiple staff members it's impossible to catch every situation. Add in the fact each member specifically knows there own situation and we are responsible for every member and not just one and I don't doubt at times there may have been the impression something was inconsistent. That said alot goes on behind the scenes as you know with the heads up PM I sent you prior to your getting banned that few even knew existed until I just mentioned it.

Its simple... dont be stupid and do things your not supposed to. If you do, and get caught... suck it up, take it and move on. Dont worry about what someone else does or does not get for doing the same thing. Grow up and worry about your own back yard. Take some ****ing responsibility for your own actions!
