I worked at a large corporation over the summer as an intern. My contract expired, and after 3 weeks i see in my bank account 2weeks worth of pay in there !!! One side of me says to keep the money, but im worried if this is a thing a large corporation would find out, and if they would even care, because my paycheck is peanuts...

yep we've seen this thread before and thats exactly what ya gotta do
I was going to post a link to that thread, but the SG search results for "bullsh|t" were too numerous
sometimes you have to think outside the box to get inside the box .
Even better, put the money in an ING account, depending on whether or not they deposit more money, how much they're depositing and when they figure out the mistake, you may make some sweet interest on it
aagiants If you get direct deposit I would call the company and inform them they may have made a mistake. You may end up looking at a negative account if you spend the money and not say anything.
They can withdraw the money out of your account even though they deposited money in your account at any time all they got to do is show proof to the bank that they made a incorrect deposit to your account and the bank will refund them their money which will leave you high and dry. I have witnessed this multiple times as i work for a large corporation and sometimes have to deal with payroll.
As i stated i have seen this happen and i will get phone calls from people that this had happened too and they get really pissed because they have spent the money and when the bank refunds the money to the company they have a negative account and want us to take care of it.
Easiest way to find out if you are owed the money is call the company and ask. if it is yours they will tell you it is yours. Also if they tell you it is yours on the phone and then they take it away from you then you have a leg to stand on. Just make sure when you call them you get all the information you can like the time of the call the person you are speaking with and a summary of the conversation you had with this person. that way you have back up and can protect yourself.
I know this may have been a long post but i would rather you be safe than sorry.
thanks Prey, I have acually grown up since the last time i really posted on this forum.. I used to be a major butthead but with working in project managment on large construction jobs i have been forced to grow up and be someone.

Simply call them and ask if they made a mistake. That's a whole lot easier than having to come up with it later, in case you spend it.
Seconded! If I felt it was something I had not personally earned, or was entitled to such as a bonus, severence pay, or something on that order...then it was not mine in the first place. I would not like to carry that feeling around personally. Just my opinion
i dont plan on spending the money ... so i guess i will leave it there for now... for now i guess ill wait another 2 weeks to see if they pay me again.. If so, im definately going to call...

If they keep paying you like this ...you might not need it
Call them and explain whats happening. Sooner or later it will be discovered by their Accountant and there is no sense sitting there worrying about that till it happens.
Peace of mind and doing the right thing are never bad a bad idea.

Ah, OK, I see, saves you a step then. I'd let it sit there for as long as it takes. Only problem is, resisting the urge to touch the money LOL
Is there any possibility that these payments are a bonus for returning to work for them in that one year clause? If so, then , yes...you are rightfully entitled to the funds. If not...if and when it is discovered..and it eventually will get caught up with...and you in fact keep these funds, without having done your best to investigate what is happening....would they WANT you back in a year knowing you HAD kept these funds, and kept quiet about it. Choice seems pretty simple to me.
Hate to be the voice of reason, but depending on your state laws if you keep it knowing you're not entitled to it, you could be prosecuted for theft by deception.
