Have a virus and need help

I got a virus through AIM the other day and i am having a hell of a time trying to get rid of it. It basically causes my AIM to open up and display an away message which says "OMFG :// www. transusacorp.com/bestfriends.scr !!!!!". then it sometimes opens up an ebay payment confirmation site. It's been really anooying and i've tried to get rid of it with Norton but no luck, and the same w/ ad-aware. Again, it just keeps putting up this message every 2 minutes and opens internet windows, does this sounds farmilar to anyone or even better, where should I start? Thanks.
