Oooh boy...another wreck..

Post by downhill »

The wife just walked in the door crying. :(

Some drunk missed a stop light and broadsided her. She seems to be ok for now. Seems all she did was hit her knee on something. She was able to drive the van home but man is there some damage.

The police hauled the guy off to jail but we're still not sure if he had insurance or not. They were still investigating it when they turned her loose...

I'm off to get her into bed.

Man...2 times to the same family in a year and a half. I'm just glad she seems ok.

Sidenote, she was wearing her seatbelt.....Don't know if that helped or not but I'm glad she had it on. Also her air bag didn't deploy, I guess side collisions won't set them off. Dunno..

That would be freaky, I'm glad she is ok. Hopefully she won't find anymor sore areas or pain when the shock wears off. Also glad it didn't turn out to be a hit and run, too many of those.

I remember getting totally smacked by a drunk in a cadalliac...hit and run too...

That car was tough as nails...it hit us, knocking us off the road, yet the cadalliac kept going like nothing was in its way.

from what i understand unless car is supplied with a side air bag and a lot newer cars are doing that a side impact wont trigger the air bag in the front.

Hi downhill

Thankfully things turned out as well as they did John. Your Wife appears okay and the one at fault is being held.

So far so good at making the best of a bad situation.

Get your Wife in for an Examination to see that She's not suffering from something unnoticed and to help Her to gain confidence all will be well.

Notify your Insurance Company now to allow them to get involved and hopefully the other Guy is Insured.

Good Luck and Hope your Wifes feeling better soon.

-

regards

:(

Consider herself lucky. As for the drunk I wouldn't. I'd be waiting outside the jail for his bail to be posted.

Bummer!!

Sorry to hear that downhill. :( Be sure to keep a close eye on her...some injuries do not surface immediately. Banging a knee sounds like a simple thing...but could in fact result in a chipped bone..plus numerous other "owies"...seems she is in wonderful hands at the moment......Take care!!

Thank God for seatbelts!

You make me feel scared. I can't stand the thought of driving anymore. Too many idiots on the road.

Glad to hear she only received minor injuries. :(

Thanks for the kind words everyone. :)

She's up. Her knee feels ok but she has a sore neck. Understandable. I'm still waiting to figure out if he has insurance or not....I've been on the phone but so far, I'm waiting to get more info from the Sheriff's Dept.

If he doesn't have insurance, let me know. The way life has been lately, I wouldn't mind coming up there and taking out all my frustrations on some dumb ass who deserves it. :irate:

Glad your wife is ok, but we don't need the extra aggravation that these idiots cause in our lives.

and no,unless it's a car that has side airbags, side impact won't set the front bags off.

Glad the wife's ok DH but a checkup is worth it, along with the -B- recommendations.

Did the van have side impact airbags? The one in the steering wheel is usually triggered from impact to the front bumper. That may be why it didn't deploy.

I hope the news is good with insurance.

John,

I am sorry to hear of this... You guys are in my prayers.

Take her to the doctor and get her thoroughly checked out. Sometimes, symptoms and pain don't show up for a couple of days...
