laptop dvd-rom problem

Post by newbie1 »

whenever I play a DVD in my DVD-rom, movie starts skipping even after I have cancelled all services except the critical ones with CTRL+ALT+del (winxp pro)

All DVD's start to work properly *only when I restart the computer and cancel all services except the critical services that xp uses (only when windows first starts up)

If I wait a while after windows has loaded up and then play a movie, dvd starts skipping even after I cancel all services except the criticals. So, I have to restart.

I've run adware and spyware blaster and upated both of them and still no cigar. I've also run antivirus check with latest defs and nothing still same effect.

any ideas?

you could disable your services that you dont use permantly by using services.msc... Just go Start/run/type: services.msc

And then refer to this site:

that should help some maybe you might need to do a disk cleanup and defragment your HDD.. might give you some resources back.. and do what zooner says possibly i use windvd5 and it seems to work pretty good...
