your post prompted me to look at the FedEX tracking for my new TV tuner card from Newegg. I can't believe what it says... I think they missed Minneapolis a little:

VERY NICE CASE BRENT. That thing looks saweeeet. GL with the shippin', I always tend to use FedEX, don't know why. UPS just doesn't impress me.

packages move along the layover trip just like people do. i.e., it;s cheaper to have stops along the way rather that directly flying there. if every time you dropped a package off to be shipped, it went directly from your location to the sender's location, shipping would cost a fortune. maybe not if the shipping route was New York to Boston... but, if it;s from Spokane (WA) to Dover (DE), the plane will be making container exchange stops in between.

all shippers have to do this. it just makes economic sense. as long as the package still arrives at the destination within the expected amount of time, then who'se the wiser?....... and, this is nothing new.... it;s just that now, people can track each stop in very close to real-time, which was impossible in the past.

oh, and as long as the case was packed properly, you shouldn;t have to worry about how many hops it made on it;s way.

BTW, FedEX over UPS any day.
