If you want your computer to shut off without pushing the power button you need to do the following:

1. Right click 'My Computer' and select 'Properites'

2. Click on the 'Hardware' tab

3. Click on the 'Device Manager' button

4. On the Device Manager menubar click on 'View' then 'Show hidden devices'

5. You should then see something to the effect of 'NT APM/Legacy Support. Enable that and all should be well.

Then I don't know joey. That's what I had to do to get my machine to shut off. Sorry I couldn't help.

Will this same tweak fix the same problem but on a Windows 2000 machine?
