Post How many houseplants do you have?

At last count I have around 55, not counting outdoor plants like my ferns and succulent gardens.

I've had as many as 200 indoor houseplants at once, but...well, survival of the fittest plays a large role here

What about you folks? Any houseplants?

Well, fungi and mold are technically plants.............therefore I have about 800 plants in my bathroom alone!

    Cool

How many houseplants do you have?
If I answered that the feds would come a knocking at my door.

The area you live in has some of the best scenery I've ever seen. I think I would be content just to look out of my window. 200 plants is a lot to have in one house. Where do you put all of the plants when you have that many?

Yeah, it was kind of overkill. I had a florescent shoplight in my living room over a bunch of the mid-light plants, plants on every window sill...

About 75% of them have been killed off. I take care of the ones I like, but the others just slowly fade away after a couple of years.

And I put more time now into my ferns and outdoor succulent garden.

    WOW! 55? Groovy man.

My wife has a garden with about 23 diffrent types of flowers, and as far as indoor, we have some really weird plants.

    7 ivy's
4 Mother in law plants (they kept reproducing!)

We have this really strange tree in our living room, that is supposed to be a houseplant, but the previous owners tied it to a stick, and it became a tree. go figure

We also have several smaller plants, (bansai, rubber tree, and some moon flowers)

Do you have a digital camera? If you post a picture I bet I could guess what it is, at least what family if not better...Just wondering.

I agree, they're hard to off. Even if you throw them outside they hang on miserably for months.

I have a varigated (white striped) and non-varigated. They do fine except my friends are always grabbing the baby "spiders."

Actually, chlorophytums (aka spider plants) have been tested as the most efficient indoor air cleaner.

Houseplants process CO2 and 02, and also remove airborn toxins. Chlorophytums are supposed to be the best type of houseplant you can get for this.

That AND hard to kill. What a plant, eh?
