    Ramdisk XP

    Right, I'm using Ramdisk Xp Superspeed software, but I want to know how to save an image of the tcpip, afd and ipnat onto it like with the RamdiskNT software.

    Just the same as you would with any Ramdrive, just follow the article by Dannjr and change the drive letter to what your Ramdrive is.

    You mean this?

    @echo on

    copy c:\winnt\System32\DRIVERS\tcpip.sys Z:\
    copy c:\winnt\System32\DRIVERS\afd.sys Z:\

    net start afd
    net start tcpip
    net start dhcp

    ipconfig

    @pause

    Or would I perhaps have to change the
    copy c:\winnt\System32\DRIVERS\tcpip.sys Z:\
    copy c:\winnt\System32\DRIVERS\afd.sys Z:\

    to copy c:\windows\System32\DRIVERS\tcpip.sys Z:\
    copy c:\windows\System32\DRIVERS\afd.sys Z:\

    Never mind lance.

    Maybe Mno could take a look later.

    Ok, I tried this

    @echo on

    copy c:\windows\System32\DRIVERS\tcpip.sys Z:\
    copy c:\windows\System32\DRIVERS\afd.sys Z:\

    net start afd
    net start tcpip
    net start dhcp
    net start netbt
    net start ipnat

    ipconfig

    @pause

    But only the tcpip and afd drivers load onto the ramdisk.

    ok so you want to run a ramdisk and load your protocols on it correct? here is the work written up on it for NT:

    http://dslnuts.com/ramdisk.shtml

    That should do it, if you do have any questions give us a holla. remember thre are 2 steps to this and you do want to make a back up of your reg before performing this.

    have fun

    Thanks Lance. I've been using Dannjr's guide to do this.

    I've successfully loaded the tcpip, afd, ipnat and the netbt drivers onto it.

    Hello.

    Seeing as I'm running XP...and not 2000, I can't find the group policy 'snap-in' as suggested by this step.

    24.) In the window the pops up over that look for the "Group Policy" snap in.
