    Does this exist?

Is there a place where you can get really old computers for dirt cheap?

I'd like to get like a p2-350 and learn more about computers.. I've been told that a good way to learn is to get your hands dirty.. And **** around with it..

I cant really do this with my current computer.. As I don't want to bust it.. Or void our warranty...

I have been reading almost every thread on speedguide.. And I am beginning to understand more about computers.. Thanks to your guys problems..

    Thanks.

My computer is a p2 350 and its my main computer. To me it really isnt that slow. Soon enought I will get a new one though. Basically the slowest part about this computer is the processor. Everything else is good in it. 384MB Ram, GeForce 2 video card, 50 gigs of hard drive space, CD-RW, DVD, zip, yamaha sound, running winXP, with a cable connection. It works for me.
Windows has not yet detected a keyboard. Press any key to continue.

Hmmm.. Seeing some things I would like to get.. but $350...

Yea that's what sucks about living in Canada.. Everyone lives in the states and they won't send it up here. Also it would cost more. Such a pain in the ass...

So a p3 500mhz computer turns out to be like 700$... What a crock of crap.

Post a few fliers at your local JC or university...students are always wanting to sell their systems. I've seen lots of kids drag their old computers to school with them only to want a newer one within a term or two.

Would this be a good computer to learn how to build a pc?

*i just read des, if you are going to be "learing pcs" the one i posted is a little too good to destroy. i can sell u a p2 233mz oced to 333mhz on a mb, with 64mb ram, pci vc, lan card, sc, and 1-2gig hd, cdrom and floppy for like $60 plus s/h LMK.

I just want to learn the basics of assembly..

go to e-bay or one of the other auction sites and bid on some. I got a Pentium !!! 500 with 128 megs of ram, and a 12 gig HD for $150 including shipping. or try your local pawn shops have seen some decent low end systems pretty cheap here. I even got a brand new pair of Harmon Karden speakers for like $15 fresh out of the box that Dell shipped them and never used.
