Is it possible to optimize ?

    SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer

    TCP properties for IP = 213.170.174.10 ()
    Browser/OS = Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; de-AT; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

    TCP options string = 020405ac010303000101080a0000068500000000

    MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

    MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1440, which is less than MSS because of Timestamps, or other TCP/IP options used.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 63360
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 63360
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
    63888 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product:
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2534.4 kbps (316.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1013.76 kbps (126.72 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 47 hops
    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = OFF

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

    Apple Macintosh G4 , MacOS 10.1.5

    ADSL using PPPoE

tried to set Default Receive Window (RWIN) to 63888 find then 64800.
Can anybody tell what to do ?

    Thank you
    dmerth

What are your ISPs caps? What kind of speeds are you getting with the settings you posted?

What we need to know is what your ISP advertises as there maximum download speed. Also your profile says you have a Mac is that correct? If not what OS are you using?

Well I know nothing about Macs, I can't help you tweak anything. Maybe someone else knows something, sorry.

Try the following RWINs 18876/27588/47916 but I have no idea how to change them.

I don't know how to change but you have timestamps on when they need to be off, you now have TCP1323Opts set to 3, needs to be set to 1
