I believe the white tailed deer is responsible for more deaths than any other animal in the US.
There was a Bambi I ran into in the early eighties that nearly suffocated me. ......but I managed to catch my breath and persist in my hunt for the elusive beaver. I found what I was looking for, but winded and out of breath, I dozed off and dreamt about tuna fishing.

I have been bit by snakes and reptiles and faced black bears in the wild. The scariest animal for me to run into would be any animal capable of mauling and eating me. Poisoness animalls I do not fear as the death is usually fast and painless by comparison to being rippped apart by strong jaws. Glad I do not live in Africa.

For me it's the Snake on land and the Stinger in the water.

We live in Taipan and Eastern Brown Snake country and they are mean SOB's. The Taipan doesn't hit you once in a few seconds, they hit you a dozen times. A very aggresive snake and I have only met up with one. It's dead. You do learn to live with them and usually they will avoid you where possible.

The Marine Stinger comes out to play in the summer here and all seawater swimming has to be done in a netted enclosure. Outside the enclosure you would be stupid to swim without protective swimwear. Pantyhose does the job for the legs but not a good look for a bronzed Aussie trying to impress a girl. LOL

As for the FunnelWeb Spider, if you are careful and check your clothing and shoes you won't get hit by one. There have beeen around 17 deaths from them and these have been caused by the spider crawling into clothing carelessly put down over where the spider lives. The spider hits when the clothing is put on. most, if not all deaths were from hits to the body and not the arms or legs.

Still reckon Steve Irwin is a bloody idiot.

Toss up between skunks and ignorant humans. I barely avoided a direct hit by pepe le pu once and he still stunk up the house and my clothes.

Dolphins . . . more people are seriously injured and or molested by dolphins than sharks every year. And everyone thinks dolphins are cute, nasty beasts they are.
