    high downstream low upstream..

I've just tested my connection and I had 2300 down and 64 up and just wondering if anyone can help me out.

I have TCP optimizer and it is set to optimal settings.

Another problem is: How come everytime I want to download something my modem would respond the first 10 seconds and later it would stop and won't continue download? Is it the ISP or is it my settings?

    I have Win XP so...

    Thanks!

Please read my tips and try the suggestions I give and try the following settings in the TCPOptimizer:

    Settings tab:

    select - cable
    check - custom settings
network adapter selection - your NIC
    check modify all adapters
    maxmtu - 1500
    TTL - 65
    TCP Receive Window - 55480/110960/166440/221920
    MTU Discovery - yes
    Black Hole Detect - no
    Selective Acks - yes
    Max Dup ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 Options - uncheck both boxes (unless using RWIN above 65535 then check windows scaling)

    Other Settings tab:

Max Connections per Server - 20
    Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 40
    Lan Browsing Speedup - optimized

Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect.

for some reason my cable connection stutters sometime. my room has +5 signal and when I test my connection I get a pretty decent speed. Though the only problem is when the cable modem doesn't respond and stops download. Anybody? thx!

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your NIC and set your duplex mode to 10mb half duplex according to my instructions in my tips and try power cycling your modem.
