Are you talking about gif's on a web page or gif's you save to your hard drive?

If it's gif's you save it's your file assocations. Right click the gif and choose open with and choose a program, IE. Make sure you have checked off always use the selected program.

If it's on web pages run windows update and if that dosn't work run this command sfc /scannnow, it's will repair any XP files that are damged.

You running ZAPro? The newer version has an option to block/unblock animations.
