Compaq 5000 series Quick Recovery Problem!

I tried to install linux but it didnt work so i deleted some patitions, all of them. I was thinking of just delete every thing and restore it into a new computer... But when I booted the computer with the Compaq Quick Restore Cd. It said to call Compaq Techincal Sopport. Dose any one know how to fix this problem?

I have a old 5070 and it requires two restore disk, Compaq only included one in the box. You may have a bad disk or the wrong disk. Either call Compaq support or go to their "Forum Page" and inquire about your dilemma.
Sorry, Never had that error message. Try to FDISK and FORMAT again, then restore....see what happens.

If you deleted all partitions then you also deleted the partition that compaq needs to do the restore. Compaqs set up a funky partition I believe.

True! You will delete all partitions, even the Compaq System Save partition. If you have the restore disk(s), they will restore the partitions back to factory default.

The "System Save" partition is good for Compaq restore without the restore CD(s), it will also allow you to restore specific selected items without restoring the whole system. If you want a "Complete" system restore, Format and Fdisk all partitions. This will start you off with a clean, back to the day it was purchased, fresh install.

Conclusion: If you have the restore disk(s)provided by Compaq, you can delete(Fdisk & Format) the existing partitions before restoring.
