    XP Pro Page File Settings

How should I set the page file Min, and Max settings for a system that has 320MB of SDRam PC133?? Right now I'm letting XP manage it, but I'd like to revert to custom settings. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    ill.

I don't know what the math is but in second box is exactly double of what you have in first box, when I had 448 Megs of RAM mine was 672 in first box and 1344 in second

I just looked and below those 2 boxes it says Recommended
put that amount in 1st box, double it for 2nd

The "rule of thumb" is 1.5 - 2X the amount of physical RAM you have installed (for both min & max), most important is to make the min & max the same size to keep your pagefile (virtual memory) from continuosly resizing thereby slowing your pc down. Also do not disable your pagefile no matter how much RAM you have, some applications require a pagefile to function properly and if you disable it these applications will not function.
