unable to send large attachment w/ outlook

54.5 mb file - is there a setting somewhere that governs the size of a file that can be sent? I can't figure it out.

I can't help but laugh at this one.

Not likely you'll find a email provider that'll allow a 54 MB file sent to there server unless you're paying big bucks for the service.

The max I'm allowed sent to me in an attachment is 5 MB

Yes- no doubt your ISP has set a limit on outgoing message size. They do this to prevent users from transmitting things like 54.5 mb file attachments. .

Seriously though, disk space is not free, and you have to set practical limits on how users use the service. A more appropriate way to transfer this file(s) is to do it via FTP.
