Slow HD

my friend has a very slow harddisk on a "fast" PC
I've turned on the DMA of his HD and gain a bit more transfer rating, but are there more ways to gain up your HD

these are the things I know about his system:
- win98se
- P4 1,5gb
- 512 ram
- nvidia video card
- onboard sound card
- 25 hd (partitioned into 4 parts
( primair 3.5gb, secondair 7/12/2.5gb)
- HD name: fujitsu

Has he run scandisk and defrag yet?

Well it looks that your friend , have not install yet , the Bus Master INTEL drivers , to make the ATA 100 controler active ,for good .

where can I find if he has installed these drivers?

The drivers must be in the motherboards CD disk .

About the Fujitsu hard drive , how many GBs is it ..
