    Wow.....L.A.M.E finally release's a final version...3.90

I thought this day would never come!!!!! Yep a final L.A.M.E.

New stable version of LAME mp3 encoder was released 21 Dec 2001 after a long delay.

You can find a download site for it here.

Wow, I don't even see an alpha there. I won't know how to act without changing it 3 times a month!

If you havn't tried LAME for making mp3's, you don't know what your missing. It's way better for anything above 128 bitrate files or VBR. In fact it's encoder for VBR rocks.

Hey, do you know where I can get a program to convert DivX files to create VCD's with the files?

Well no it will work in DOS....but it's easier to use a frontend....

I'm partial to RazorLAME.....drop RazorLAME into a folder...then open it. Make it point to your LAME exe and your ready to go.

There are a few more things. You need to figure out what kind of mp3 you want to make. I'm partial to VBR's using the --rmix setting.

    You can get RazorLAME http://www.dors.de/razorlame/

Also you can get more info, like what settings to use at...

    http://www.r3mix.net/

    For settings, look under news.

For the rest look under ripping, encoding, ect ect.....welcome to the world of mp3 encoding. Now when your ready for high quality sound...let me know and I'll point you to mp+.
