    Windows XP Pro Settings

    Once again it's me, had to reformat... I reinstalled cablenut, repatched the system using SG patches and then applied some of the custom tweaks that worked best for me before... all is well - but, well you know, can things get any better?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    TCP options string = 020405b40103030401010402

    MTU = 1500
    MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

    MSS = 1460
    Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

    Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 747520
    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 4 bits
    Unscaled Receive Window = 46720
    RWIN is a multiple of MSS
    Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
    513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
    256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
    128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
    64240 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product:
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 29900.8 kbps (3737.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
    Your RcvWindow limits you to: 11960.32 kbps (1495.04 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

    Time to live left = 42 hops
    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

    IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------My manual tweaks look as follows: (omitted are blank)

    DefaultRecieveWindow = 747520
    DefaultSendWindow = 747520
    InitialLargeBufferCount = 48
    InitialMediumBufferCount = 96
    InitialSmallBufferCount = 150
    LargeBufferSize = 40960
    MaxFastTransmit = 2
    MediumBufferSize = 40960
    PriorityBoost = 10
    SmallBufferSize = 1805
    EnableFastRouteLookup = 1
    EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1
    GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = 747520
    SackOpts = 1
    Tcp1323Opts = 1
    TcpMaxDupAcks = 3
    TcpWindowSize = 747520
    MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 99 (32 slowed me down)
    MaxConnectionsPerServer = 99 (32 slowed me down)
    DefaultTTL = 64
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    AMD Athlon 1.1GHz
    512MB SDRAM
    WinXP Pro 2600
    Cornerstone ARRIS CM200 Modem
    Realtek RTL8029 10Mbit/s NIC

    Here are my settings (my connection is advertized as 512kbit/s down and 128kbit/s up) I usually get results of 7x 56k modem.
    IRQ tweak under system.ini is set to 4096.

    Speed 388(down)/124(up) kbps

    My downloads start off at around 500 KByte/s and drop to around 50 KBytes/s (my cap) and then usually to around 30-10KByte/s if we are talking about a big file. Can I improve any of this? My system is tweaked-out, defraged and so on...

    NOW: What can I change in cablenut, windows, etc to speed things up?! Thanks guys...

    Your RWIN may be too high. Try 51100, 531440, 560640 or 601520.
